Privacy Policy
AAW Network
Last updated: 15 October 2026
1. About this privacy policy
AAW Network operates the website at aawnetwork.co.uk, providing American football news, articles, podcasts, schedules and related services.
We also operate AAW Hub, an American football companion offering game information, statistics, rankings, personal favourites and game ratings.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used and the choices available to visitors.
It applies to the AAW Network website, AAW Hub and associated online services operated by AAW Network.
For privacy enquiries, please contact us at [INSERT CONFIRMED CONTACT EMAIL].
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use our services, we may collect:
- Website usage information: pages visited, approximate location, device and browser information, referral sources and interactions with website features.
- Information you submit: details you voluntarily provide through contact forms, contributor applications or other communications.
- Technical information: information required to deliver our website, maintain security, investigate errors and prevent misuse.
- AAW Hub preferences: favourite teams and game ratings stored locally in your browser.
- Optional Hub participation: selected football preferences and ratings you explicitly choose to contribute to AAW’s private audience reporting.
We do not require visitors to create an account simply to read articles or browse publicly available football information.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Operate, maintain and secure our website and services.
- Respond to enquiries and contributor applications.
- Understand how our website is used and improve its content and functionality.
- Maintain the reliability of AAW Hub.
- Produce private, aggregated audience insights from voluntary Hub contributions.
- Meet applicable legal obligations.
Where UK data protection law applies, our processing may rely on consent, legitimate interests, contractual necessity or legal obligations, depending on the activity.
Where processing depends on consent, you can withdraw that consent.
4. Website analytics
AAW Network uses Google Analytics to help understand how visitors interact with our website.
Analytics may include information about pages viewed, visit duration, approximate geographical location, device type, browser and referral sources.
Google may process information using its own infrastructure, including systems outside the United Kingdom.
Where consent is required for analytics cookies or similar technologies, we will request it before enabling them.
AAW Hub has separate analytics controls. Its Google Analytics integration remains disabled unless and until it is approved and enabled.
5. Cookies and browser storage
Our services may use cookies and browser storage for different purposes.
Essential storage supports functionality, security and technical operation.
Preference storage allows AAW Hub to remember favourite teams, game ratings and other settings on your device.
Analytics storage may be used to understand website usage, subject to applicable consent requirements.
Audience participation storage allows Hub to recognise voluntary contributions from the same browser without requiring a name or account.
You can manage available consent settings through the relevant service and can also remove cookies or locally stored information using your browser settings.
Deleting browser storage may reset saved preferences and participation settings.
6. AAW Hub — Audience Participation
AAW Hub allows visitors to contribute football preferences voluntarily to help AAW understand audience interests.
Participation is optional and separate from website analytics.
What you can contribute
If you choose to participate, AAW may collect:
- NFL and college football teams you deliberately select or change as favourites.
- Game ratings you deliberately select or change using Hub’s S–D rating system.
- Whether a rating was made before, during or after a game.
- A randomly generated browser identifier used to recognise updated selections and prevent repeated counting from the same browser.
Participation does not require your name, email address or an account.
Future-only contributions
Opting in does not automatically upload your existing locally saved favourites or ratings.
Only subsequent deliberate selections or changes can be contributed.
How contributions are used
Contributions help AAW understand football interests, favourite-team distributions and game-rating patterns.
Audience reports are available privately to authorised AAW administrators.
Individual contributions are not published as public profiles or displayed as community ratings on Hub game cards.
Retention
Participation lasts for up to 365 days from the date you opt in.
Contributed selections are retained until the earlier of participation expiry or 90 days after the relevant football season’s confirmed end.
Automated processes remove expired participation records.
Withdrawal
You can withdraw participation through AAW Hub’s Preferences.
Withdrawal stops further contributions and deletes centrally stored selections associated with your current participation identifier.
Your locally saved favourite teams and ratings remain available for your personal use.
If you delete the participation identifier from your browser before withdrawing, AAW may no longer be able to identify your earlier contributions for immediate deletion. They remain subject to automatic expiry.
7. AAW Hub analytics
AAW Hub offers a separate, optional Google Analytics setting.
If enabled with your permission, it may collect information about visits, device characteristics and interactions with Hub features.
Hub’s analytics implementation does not intentionally transmit your selected favourite teams, game ratings or audience participation identifier to Google Analytics.
Analytics permission and audience participation permission are independent.
You may agree to either, both or neither.
Withdrawing analytics consent stops future tracking through Hub, but does not automatically erase data already processed by Google.
8. Contact forms and contributor applications
When you contact AAW Network or apply to join our team, we may receive information such as your name, email address, experience, interests and message content.
We use this information to respond to your enquiry, assess applications and communicate with you about the relevant matter.
Information submitted through third-party forms, including Google Forms where used, may also be processed by the form provider.
We retain submitted information only for as long as reasonably necessary for its intended purpose, subject to applicable legal requirements.
9. Third-party services and external links
AAW Network uses third-party services to operate and support its website and related tools. These may include:
- IONOS and WordPress for website hosting and content management.

We do not sell visitors’ personal information to advertisers.
10. Information security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information handled through our services.
These include restricting access to administrative systems, using appropriate access controls and limiting access to information according to operational needs.
No online service can guarantee absolute security.
11. International processing
Some service providers may process or store information outside the United Kingdom.
Where UK data protection law applies, we will use applicable safeguards for restricted international transfers, where required.
12. Your privacy rights

- Request access to personal information held about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion in applicable circumstances.
- Object to or request restriction of certain processing.

Some rights depend on the nature of the information and the lawful basis for processing.
You may contact AAW Network using the privacy contact address above.
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
13. Children’s privacy
AAW Network provides general-interest American football content and does not intentionally operate AAW Hub’s audience participation feature as a service specifically directed at children.
If we become aware that information has been collected inappropriately, we will review it and take appropriate action.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technology or legal obligations change.
The latest version will be published on the AAW Network website with an updated revision date.
Significant changes affecting optional participation or analytics may require updated information or renewed consent.
